I had intended to see him on Saturday January 3rd, but I had been admitted to the hospital the day before. I had another appointment the following Saturday, which I was really looking forward to in hopes that he could do something about my dizziness, but our family came down with a nasty stomach virus that weekend and we were down for the count. Then to my surprise I was admitted to the second hospital the following Tuesday, January 13th, and released yesterday, so I wasn't able to see him until this morning (Saturday January 17th).
So, at long last we went to the chiropractor this morning. Mickey was very excited--he loves getting his adjustment. Then Mickey said it was his daddy's turn, and then it was mine. I told the chiropractor about my hospital experiences, lack of diagnosis, and symptoms. He took notes, checked my balance, and said the problem was coming from my cerebellum. That's the same part of the brain that alcohol affects--thus making people stagger when they walk, not see well, and have slurred speech. I'd noticed it had been harder to talk but I thought it was just because I've been so tired. Anyway, he did some kind of adjustment to my fingers, had me do an arm exercise with just my right arm, and immediately I was able to stand without swaying as much. Then he did my regular adjustment for my scoliosis. I'm to keep seeing him once a week, and every time I feel dizzy, I need to stand up and do the exercise he showed me.
So, here's hoping this simple solution is all I need to start feeling better. Though of course I will also do what the doctors at the hospital said about getting physical therapy to regain my strength and taking iron at each meal. Fingers crossed, head bowed, eyes closed...
