Praise Report

I got Sunday/Mondays off! I'll start my new schedule from August 20th. PTL! Praise the Lord!
Church was good today. We had a really good talk with the pastor after the service, plus we were able to stay for lunch with the church members and got to talk with several of them. It was really refreshing.
I had a good time with my new friend (Mrs. Yamada). She told me all about her family and showed me several pictures, plus she told me about this American guy (from Jersey?) who had home-stayed at her place for 6 months while her husband was still alive. This guy still calls her from time to time to check on her, even though it's been like 5 years or more since he stayed there with her. When he found out last year that her husband had died, he said, "I'm coming." She told him he didn't need to, especially if he was busy (he's a lawyer now), but he came and he brought his wife with him. I want to be like him! What an amazing person--to keep in touch with someone so well and show so much care. I really need to contact my previous home-stays and see how they're doing...
It was so nice to get to be with Daiju after work on Saturday and today (Sunday). He's off until the end of this week, so I'll get to talk to him for longer than 10 minutes a day now! Even though I still have to work over the summer holiday, I will get the afternoon off on Wednesday, and Thursday is still my day off as of this week, so we're going to make a mini-trip to Gunma to see his parents and grandparents. It should be nice to have a little change of scenery, and to see his family again.
I guess I better go study some Japanese...
