だいじょうぶで~す I'm fine~

Sorry for the alarm, everyone!
Daiju called the doctor's office. They said my test results were already in, and that everything's normal. So, their conclusion is that actually NOTHING is wrong. My lower-right parathyroid isn't swollen, it's just abnormally large (perhaps it has always been, and this is just the first time anyone noticed). Nevertheless, I'm still bringing Daiju or somebody with me the next time I go there! Thank you sooo much for your prayers!!! They made the wait a lot easier.
Today I taught two elementary-age lessons, two with a junior high student, and two with a group of mostly high school (and a couple of junior high) students. I went in several hours early to prepare. I'm SO tired! I was at work for like 11 hours! I did take a lunch and dinner break, but they weren't very long and I ate at work, so it wasn't like I was really gone. Any way, I think I did a good job, considering my skill and experience level.
Most of the kids had a good time. But the hardest (as usual) to engage were the teenage group. They're so scared of making mistakes, plus they're just at "that age" where their peers are a BIG deal.
Oh, and it was hard to teach the beginning students. The junior high one would stare off into space pretending he was pondering how to pronounce a word. But FIRST he needed to LOOK at it and TRY to READ it!!!
I had an elementary school student a little above his reading level, and she tried to read for the first half of the lesson, but then she got tired or lazy and just stopped trying. I guess it was too much for her. She was supposed to be in a group lesson, but no one else showed up. I think she was the one another teacher told me had been "inactive" in class. I had to make her participate the entire time, so it must've been a little overwhelming for her. I tried to put some writing and speaking activities between the reading, but there was just a lot of reading in that chapter, so I couldn't really avoid it any more than I already had. I hope she's okay!
There'll be a teacher-student party this Saturday at an Indian restaurant near where I work. I'm looking forward to it. It's free for the teachers, but anyone else who comes has to pay 4000 yen (like $35?). It's that expensive because the students are basically paying for the teachers...But also I'm told this Indian restaurant is a little expensive anyway. But it should be fun. But in reality I'm paying my way, because I asked Daiju to come and he has to pay the fee.
We're FINALLY getting the TV!!! The earliest it'll arrive is Friday morning. Woo-hoo! Yippee! Oh, now I'm starting to want an American DVD player...Oh well. We can hook up a lap-top to the TV and watch American DVDs that way. That works just fine.
I guess I better get off of here before it gets any later. I'm told I write too much on here anyway!!! lol
