Toddler Time

The developmental milestones almost get overlooked nowadays. Not that they aren't all applaudable, but that there are so many I have trouble keeping track!

MJ is walking, doing chores, trying to communicate, understanding a lot, expanding his interests and skills, and very much a little boy. I love watching him grow!

The past month has been hard though. He was sick off and on for about three weeks, and lost much of his appetite, baby fat, and desire to do things solo. He was very clingy and just not himself. Father-in-law also alerted us to the fact that his hip was crooked, causing him difficulty in walking. So, he's started seeing a chiropractor once a week and it's already making a difference. Thank goodness!

We were absent from church those three weeks, which was also hard. We only put him in the nursery during the Sunday School hour, but it'd been so long he was very sad to be away from us. And he's been very clingy since then. I think we won't make him stay the whole hour next week. It was too much for him last week. We need to gradually ease him into it again.

Now he's almost eighteen months old. A year and a half! Wow. He's such a big kid now. I love seeing him begin to enjoy books that previously he had little interest in. Recently he's into his Little Golden Bible Story Book, The Homeless Christmas Tree, The Cat in the Hat, and Green Eggs and Ham. He also likes a Japanese book about bath time, but only when Daddy reads it because Mommy is too slow with the long ones like that one.

He'll have a checkup soon, and more shots. And soon we will know where our family will be living for the next few years while Daiju is in school. May God continue to provide for us, as He always has so faithfully.
