Our baby got big!
At birth:
He weighed 3138g (6.9lbs)
He was 50cm (19.7in) tall
His chest was 32.5cm (12.8in) around
And his head was 34.5cm (13.6in) around
At his one-month checkup (4 weeks and 6 days):
He weighed 4650g (10.3lbs)
He was 54.2cm (21.3in) tall
His chest was 36.2cm (14.3in) around
And his head was 37cm (14.6in) around
All of this just from breastfeeding--no formula at all! If he were taking formula he would've been told to cut back, but since he's just nursing he's fine. But he sure looked big compared to the other babies his age at the hospital today, lol.
He'll start getting his immunizations a couple of months from now. I'm not looking forward to seeing him in pain from the injections, but I know it's important to do. When he gets older I'll do what my mom did for me and get him an ice cream or something every time he gets one. Until then, I guess nursing will do.
Scary shots aside, I'm so thankful to God for a healthy child! I hope he continues to be healthy and happy as he grows up, and that he does what is right and good in God's sight.
