Midnight Update

I shouldn't be typing this now, as I should've gone to bed an hour ago (it's 12:14 in the morning here), but I really want to update y'all, so I'll try to make it short yet informative.
Tonight I got to hang out with Yuko, my old roommate from my last semester at UTA. It was so fun to just chat and hang out with her and her friend Naru. They're really nice girls. It was fun to be able to speak in English AND Japanese. I think I'm most comfortable speaking that way now. We laughed and told stories and reminisced a little, too. It was great fun!
My lessons have been going pretty well. This past week I had to turn in some reports on some kids' classes for the first time. I had to mark the kids' progress and grade their behavior in class, as well as write comments and suggestions for improvement. It was pretty hard! I haven't taught them for too long, so I'm not sure how great of an assessor I was. But the school felt I had enough experience to do it, so I guess I should trust them on that.
We'll be getting another new teacher soon. She's from Paris (France). She'll be teaching English, and later French as well. I wonder how the work environment will change with another new person...
Daiju's doing well. He's staying at work late tonight to grade tests. I think he's enjoyed the past couple of days, since he hasn't had to prepare any lessons (just supervise tests). But now he has to grade them, so I guess it all balances out in the end.
I think we've both gotten over the cold we had. I didn't realize how out of it I was last Sunday. One of the younger ladies at church came up to us after the service and asked if she could have a copy of a Christian CD or two from us. Daiju then left me to finish the conversation with her. I didn't even realize it at the time, but I spoke to her in ENGLISH!!! I feel so sorry for her now! She had no clue what I was saying, but she smiled and nodded kindly. I plan to explain myself tomorrow after the service. OOPS!
Daiju will get the week after next off, so we're going to take a little trip to the countryside to relax and take a break from it all. My company has a discount program with a resort-type hotel chain, so we're staying at one of those. It should be fun!
This winter I get to join the Hoshino family vacation. We'll go up to Niigata (which has possibly the most snow in Japan in the winter) and go skiing/snowboarding and bathe in Onsen (hotsprings). I'm kind of nervous, but it should be fun and I'm so glad that I really am a part of their family!
It's about to turn to 12:30am now, so I better go. "Oyasumi" (goodnight~ oh-yah-soo-mee)
